Sea child is 8" when not sitting, 5" seated. The tail and the arms are attached to the body with wood beads, so they can move.
The child and the shell are both made from fabric that has been primed with gesso and then painted with acrylic paint.
The fingers are all separate, the hair is yarn with a shell headband. The nose and ears were added separately, the eyes and mouth are painted.
The shell does not close, it is made to stay open. It has a wood base, and it is quilted and measures 6" high and 7" wide.
There are three little stars and a seahorse in the shell with the child also made of painted fabric.
